Civil engineering
Civil engineering, the oldest of the main branches of engineering, involves the planning and supervision of large construction projects as bridges, canals, dams, tunnels and water supply systems.
Civil engineers also cooperate with architects to design and erect all types of buildings. Other civil engineering projects include airports, highways, levees, irrigation and sewerage systems, pipelines and railways.
Civil engineers-
1.Work to build strong, safe structures that meet building codes and regulations and are well-suited to their surroundings.
2.Are responsible for surveying and preparing building sites and for selecting appropriate materials.
3.Must understand the use of bulldozers, cranes, power shovels and other construction equipment.
Civil engineers work-
1.In the specialized study of the physical characteristics of soils, rocks and the design of foundations.
2.Concentrate on the management of water resources, including the construction of flood control and irrigation systems, hydroelectric power plants, water supply and sewage systems.
3.Focus on designing transportation systems and methods of traffic control.
4.In city planning and urban renewal programmes.
Spurred by the nation’s improving infrastructure and its endeavour to compete as a contender to being an international influence, there is a need for more civil engineers to expand transportation, water supply, pollution control, and large building complexes. There is also a need to elevate the country from its dire state to the repaired or replaced shape of roads, bridges, traffic systems, and other public concerned structures. Civil engineers are in great demand for their subject-specific knowledge and intrinsic technical understanding.
Based on this premise we at EDULINK approach these assignments with an innovative and creative style keeping in mind the analytical, interpretative, investigative and critical nature of civil engineering. With a sound grasp of the fundamentals of Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Technology, Architecture, Structural Design, and Environmental Science, we at EDULINK tackle the assignments by employing resources and techniques in the finest manner possible.
